Quality International Curriculum

ORLI, the Origins Research and Learning Institute has developed the Origins Curriculum which is based on the philosophies and framework of the 3 International Baccalaureate Programmes, incorporates the requirements of the Chinese National Curriculum for basic education (Grades 1-9) and is benchmarked against international standards.

It also has a strong emphasis on supporting students to develop the future work skills, which will be needed in a world where the nature of work is rapidly changing, due to the impact of technology. These are identified as high-level thinking and problem solving skills, creativity and innovation, and a wide range of ‘people skills’ including collaboration, cooperation, communication, emotional and intercultural intelligence.

The International Baccalaureate (IB)

The IB is recognized and valued for providing high quality, academically rigorous, globally-focused, progressive international education programmes that are highly valued for gaining entry to and succeeding at university. IB programmes have a profoundly positive overall impact on young people, giving them academic knowledge and skills, a love of life-long learning, and the values and attitudes needed for success in gaining university entrance (including advanced placement), and indeed later in life and work.

The International Baccalaureate is more than its educational programmes, diplomas and certificates. At its heart is the motivation to create a better world through education. The IB aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

The IB organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, life-long learners who appreciate the uniqueness of other people and value opinions different to their own. They also promote intercultural understanding and respect as an essential part of life in the 21st century.
